Workshops
Bi-weekly Workshops
The Bright Future Umpqua initiative hosts bi-weekly workshops that are open to all high school students in the Umpqua Valley. With each workshop, our goal is to help youth develop the skills to pursue a career of their interest. These workshops will cover topics such as:
-
Preparing for post-secondary education: Applying to scholarships, FAFSA, or ORSAA
-
Skill building: Time-management skills, communication skills, goal-setting
-
"Adulting" Skills: changing a flat tire, financial literacy
-
Job/Internship: Interview tips, writing a resume/CV, how to find internships/jobs
-
and more!
Career Spotlight Series
We will also host a monthly Career Spotlight series through Oregon Connections where we will invite industry professionals to share about their pathway to their field. Our hope is to expose youth to a diversity of careers, some that they may not have considered before!
